Girl Plus So Much More!

My daughter was playing with stickers earlier this morning and came across a G+ sticker that I got from an event I covered months ago. She was goofing around a bit and thought it would be funny to put the sticker on her chest.

Girl plus more!

I, on the other hand, was inspired. I was inspired because this photo, at this moment, summed up everything I hope to achieve as I raise my daughter. This photo is something I want people to see in every little girl. I want everyone to see that every little girl has unlimited potential to be so much more. Potential that shouldn’t be limited by their gender roles or societal expectations.

I want my girl to have the best of all possible worlds, and this is something I pray every little girl will have.

Girl Plus So Much More

superheromodelI want girls to be super models and superheroes, at the same time.

teddybeartelescopeI want girls to have telescopes and teddy bears, and be comfortable with both.

bikehouseI want girls to play house and ride bikes, that they’re able to build and fix themselves.

boysandgirlsAnd have as many playmates as they want, both boys and girls.

beeverythingI want little girls to be gunslinger-mermaids-daredevil-veterinarians, and everything in between.

In short, I want little girls to feel like they can be anything they want, without judgement, without limits, without fear. I want them to know that they’re not just little girls, there’s always room for so much more.
